After the thrills – and spills – of the opening Champions League 2021/22 matches we can’t wait for CL Matchday 2 when the giants of German, English, Spanish and Italian football will all be in action. Whether it was Bayern Munich making Barcelona look average, the battle between those great European rivals Liverpool and Milan, Manchester City and RB Leipzig sharing NINE goals, Bellingham shining for Dortmund or little Bruges holding Messi et al, it was a great night. On the Wednesday there were 28 goals – and winning bets for the EagleBet panel!
This week should be even more exciting – and profitable – so here we pick key bets with our Champions League odds, predictions and tips.
UEFA Champions League Tuesday Top matches
Glamour tie of Tuesday’s CL’s night is Messi’s PSG against beaten finalists Manchester City, the two favourites for the tournament. PSG struggled against Bruges while City’s uneven start to the season saw them score six but concede three against RB Leipzig. This will be a big test of whether PSG has arrived as a European super-club.
As for Leipzig, they will expect a Champions League win at home to Bruges.
That is Champions Leagues Group A. In Group B there are two big matches, Liverpool away to FC Porto and AC Milan at home to La Liga Champions Atlético Madrid.
Group C highlight is surely Borussia Dortmund at home to Sporting Lisbon while in Group D those two giants Inter Milan and Real Madrid should be confident of winning Champions League matches.

PSG v Man City
Guardiola’s team have the edge of over Pochettino’s PSG in recent matches, including the 2020-21 semi final. But PSG have strengthened since then with Hakimi, Donnaruma, Wijnaldum, and Ramos; City have added just Grealish.
City have not convinced this season and have defensive injuries, but they are formidable in this stage of the competition, winning 12 of their last 14 Champions League matches.
PSG are challenged less in their domestic league, which showed against Bruges.
We realise this is a risk but we are going for a City win.

With attacking flair in both teams (and City defensive injuries) its tempting to go for over goals but PSG’s superstars haven’t clicked yet and City will look to keep it tight. Both teams have strong recent history of under 3.5 goals a game; the over 2.5 goals market is poor.
Champions League EagleBet tip: away win
Leipzig v Bruges
Leipzig seem over-priced: odds of 1.54 in the Champions League to beat the team who stopped PSG? Leipzig have lost three of their last five (albeit against Bayern, Manchester City and Wolfsburg).
Leipzig have also lost their last three Champions League matches.

We would not bet a fortune, but a draw at Champions League odds of 4.2 looks generous.
Champions League EagleBet tip: draw

Borussia Dortmund v Sporting CP
Dortumund are strong favourites to win this Champions League encounter and have won 5 in 6 when their odds are under 2.0 in the CL: they don’t mess up against weaker opponents in the Champions League. But the odds are too short.
How about goals? We want to make a prediction in the over goals market. Dortmund have scored in their last 11 Champions League matches – some achievement.

And there have been over 2.5 goals in 8 of the last 9 Champions League matches involving Dortmund.
They have also been scoring for fun: 13 in their last 4
Given we could see Dortmund scoring three and Sporting typically score at least one, the over 3.5 goals at Champions League odds of 2.06 looks tempting.
Champions League EagleBet tip: over 3.5 goals at 2.06
