Brentford v Southampton FC – EPL Predictions
Both are technically still in danger of relegation and with several lower teams improving dramatically, what might have been a dead rubber suddenly has spice.
Given Southampton’s poor end of season we would have made Brentford strong favourites before Manchester United demolished them 3-0 on Monday.
Southampton have just one win and two draws in their last 10 across all competitions. They have conceded two in their last three games.

Burnley v Aston Villa Premiership Predictions
Villa have improved after four straight defeats – drawing t at Leicester City, then beating hopeless Norwich. But they face revitalised Burnley fighting for survival and – we never anticipated writing this – a Premier League form team. They have won their last three following a great point at West Ham, giving themselves an improbable chance of escape.

Crystal Palace v Watford – Premiership Predictions
Watford are effectively down and their match against Burnley last weekend summed up their season – nice attacking play early on, then fold.
The Hornets have lost their sting, losing their last five games, while Palace looked excellent again at the weekend and we make them strong favourites, signalling season over for their old manager Roy Hodgson. Good manager though he was in his day, the temporary Watford chief looks ready for his pipe and slippers while the future belongs to new Palace boss Patrick Viera – arguably break-out manager of the season for the swashbuckling team he is building.

Brighton v Manchester United – Premier League Predictions
Brighton are 6th in our five match Premier League form table with three wins and a draw, which sounds impressive. However, they have not won at home this calendar year in any competition, spanning eight matches. They couldn’t even beat Norwich at home.
Manchester United were looking terrible, knocked out of the Champions League and with just one win in six across all competitions, even losing at home to Everton. Both Liverpool and Arsenal showed how far United are now from being a top four side, recently knocking seven goals past them between them. United even let in two at home to Norwich. But their last two results have shown marked improvement, first a slightly lucky 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea, then an excellent 3-0 demolition of Brentford.
Our instinct here is to back United given Brighton’s home record but we think there will be goals given United’s leaky defence combined with some impressive firepower up front.

Liverpool v Tottenham – EPL Prediction
The big match. Liverpool are playing brilliantly as they chase the quadruple, including the Premier League title. They played really sensibly to win 1-0 away against a decent Newcastle at the weekend to go top of the Premier League briefly – until Manchester City demolished Leeds United 4-0.
Spurs looked sensational at the weekend and this is arguably Liverpool’s sternest test in the Premier League run in. Failure to get three points here and it’s hard to see them winning the title many neutrals think they deserve for their brilliantly creative play this season.
Spurs are enjoying a season transformed after a difficult start – huge credit goes to manager Conte. Awkwardly for Liverpool, Spurs are locked in a desperate battle for Champions League qualification with arch-rivals Arsenal, so will give everything here.
Tottenham are strong on the road, with six wins and a draw in their last 10 Premier League games. They are on an excellent run bar their recent inexplicable home loss to Brighton. They blew Leicester aside more than the 3-1 scoreline suggests, but they will find Liverpool far tougher.
Liverpool have the disadvantage of having played in the Champions League on Tuesday so will have less recovery time, though Jurgen Klopp has been rotating intelligently with his impressive, deep squad.
We have to back Liverpool given how magnificent they have been but there are probably safer bets than the overall result.
Both these teams love scoring and both to score tempts. Spurs scored 21 in six before drying up for two games – the goal machine looked back in gear against Leicester.
Liverpool haven’t failed to score in the Premier League this calendar year.
